the Bear SG you got a one-track mind... he's getting people from Muar to come pick him up.. at Woodlands.. so i drive him there
jetta SG Your room sounds like a huge one. When we were still in Japan, while I was trying to move the tv (I really didn't think it was *that* heavy) there was a tremor and the tv fell on me. Yikes! The thing was super duper heavy and there I was in a squatting position with the tv on my lap, with no way of pulling myself up due to the awkward angle. I must have been in that position for about 15 minutes or so until I managed to push the tv back up on the tv stand.
the Bear SG my room isn't big.. but it's cluttered.. i read a lot so books keep coming in without going out the tv is a 29-inch job.. it's 55kg and wired up like heck.. to a DVD player, a PS2 and a cable tv box... DVD player is wired up to a 5.1 speaker system... way too many cables in the back which i don't wanna look at
jetta SG Here in the States, we have kneeling busses and ramps too. Even a bike rack on the front of the bus. Sg has kneeling busses too right? If my memory serves me well (which it very often doesn't)
sbst275 SG Our buses here mostly except abt 80 have their chassis with steps... That 80 are stepless boarding/ alighting
the Bear SG the "for the handicapped" buses are nonsense... again, like most things by the management of singapore (we don't even attempt to disguise the fact that the bus companies are not gabrament ones) they are done for show... tell me.. what's the point of "for the handicapped" when we don't even have enough space for the normal people who fill the bus to busting point?
sbst275 SG Some have seen the buses, the standing area for those are reserved for the handicapped, no one other than them is to be there But the most irritating is the ramp that made the width of the buses longer by 5cm, though it isn't much it's a headache to the depots
jetta SG For all it's minuses, public transport in Sg is much better than many other countries. Japan's public transportation is wonderful. It took Hubby no time to understand the system and he doesn't read Kanji. He was the one who taught me.
sbst275 SG Haiz Saw those N Korean pic... Really sad... The ppl there still thinks South Koreans are rather the beggars
jetta SG Er...not where I used to live leh. What threw me off at first was the boarding in the back of the bus and alighting in the front bit. The fare deposit "bank" also makes change!
jetta SG Yes, routes and areas, prefectures, all different. RE: Giving change, not lei chei at all. Completely automated. Just feed your paper note in and it'll spit the change right out.
sbst275 SG I see I dunno why, last time ppl here also want to play cheat for that the most $1.00 of bus fare, put in RM or whatever
